乙未　丙申十二年七月。京師黑眚見。其狀一片黑氣。其疾如風。或自戶牖入。至則人皆昏迷。金睛修尾。狀類犬貍。

Yiwei. The twelfth year, bingshen, seventh month: A dark omen appeared in the capital. Its form was a mass of black vapor, moving as swiftly as the wind, sometimes entering through doors and windows. Wherever it came, people fell unconscious. It had golden eyes and a long tail, resembling a dog or civet.
