孝宗長子。張太后所生。時年十五太陵崩。即皇帝位。乙丑正月十八日也。在位十六年。壽三十一。上徽號曰。承天達道英肅睿哲昭德顯功宏文思孝毅皇帝。廟號武宗。葬康陵。

He was the eldest son of Emperor Xiaozong, born of Empress Dowager Zhang. At that time he was fifteen years of age. When the Emperor of the Tailing Mausoleum passed away, he ascended the imperial throne on the eighteenth day of the first month of the yichou year. He reigned for sixteen years and lived to the age of thirty-one. He was posthumously honored as Emperor Chengtian dadao yingsu ruizhe zhaode xiangong hongwen sixiao yi (Emperor Wuzong the Resolute). His temple name was Wuzong, and he was buried in the Kangling Mausoleum.
