戊子永樂六年三月。福建柏生花為瑞。上賜勅責之。既而蘇州揚州二府。奏言。檜花為瑞。

In the wuzi year, the sixth year of the Yongle reign (1408), in the third month, cypresses in Fujian blossomed, which was considered an auspicious omen; His Majesty issued an edict reproaching them. Soon after, the two prefectures of Suzhou and Yangzhou also memorialized that juniper blossoms were an auspicious omen.
