大休禪師　名實。一號際菴。新鄭人。至伏牛山參古心。又參天奇付法。自偈。法身元無相。真性本來空。識得這消息。內外顯家風。

Chan Master Daxiu: His name was Shi, and his alternate sobriquet was Ji'an; a native of Xinzheng. He went to Mount Funiu to consult Guxin, and also studied under Tianqi, who transmitted the Dharma to him. His own verse said: 'The Dharma-body is originally without form; / The true nature is inherently empty. / Once one recognises this news, / Inside and outside reveal the ancestral style.'
