辛酉天啟元年二月。日傍有耳如月狀。倏如玉環。其大竟天　十二月。日上恍有一物。如日大。伏壓日上磨盪。

In the first year of Tianqi, xinyou, in the second month, beside the sun there were ear-like halos shaped like the moon, suddenly resembling jade rings, their largeness spanning the entire sky. In the twelfth month, above the sun there was seemingly an object as large as the sun, lying pressed upon the sun and grinding against it.
