Junior Preceptor to the Crown Prince Yao Guangxiao passed away; he was posthumously granted the title Duke of Rong and the posthumous name Gongjing. He authored the Daoyu lu, seen above. In the twelfth month, an imperial decree ordered the completion of the palaces and abbeys on Mount Wudang, which was bestowed the name "Mount of the Great Peak and Great Harmony" (Taiyue Taihe). The mountain has seventy-two peaks, thirty-six crags, and twenty-four ravines. The highest peak is called Tianzhu, and the most scenic area is called Zixiao. The Southern Crag rises above into the clouds and looks down upon sheer chasms. Formerly, all had palaces as places to sacrifice to spirits and pray for blessings; they were destroyed by warfare in the late Yuan, and now all were newly restored: Zixiao was named the Taixuan Zixiao Palace, and the Southern Crag was named the Dasheng Nanyue Palace. There were also the Xingsheng Wulong Palace, the Xuantian Yuxu Palace, the Yuzhen Palace, the Qingwei Palace, and the Jingle Palace. Furthermore, at the summit of Tianzhu Peak, copper was cast into a hall adorned with gold, and an image of Zhenwu was cast within it. Three hundred Daoist priests were selected to perform sweeping and sprinkling duties, and two hundred and seventy-seven qing of fields were granted, along with tenant farmers to provide for them. A superintendent was appointed for each palace, ranking as regular sixth rank.
