成祖第一子。仁孝太后。徐氏所生也。正位儲宮二十二年。成祖崩。甲辰八月十五即位。在位一年。乙巳五月十一日崩於西宮。壽四十八。上徽號曰敬天體道純誠至德弘文欽武章聖達孝昭皇帝。廟號仁宗。葬獻陵。

The first son of Chengzu, born to Empress Renxiao of the Xu clan. He occupied the Eastern Palace as Crown Prince for twenty-two years. When Chengzu passed away, he ascended the throne on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, jiachen. He was on the throne for one year. On the eleventh day of the fifth month, yisi, he passed away in the Western Palace at the age of forty-eight. He was presented with the posthumous honorific title Emperor Zhao, Reverencing Heaven and Embodying the Dao, of Pure Sincerity and Supreme Virtue, Vast Literary Culture and Revered Martial Prowess, Manifestly Sagely and Utmost in Filial Piety, with the temple name Renzong. He was buried at Xianling.
