佛言。我聲聞弟子中。第一初受法味思惟四諦。寬仁博識善能勸化。將養聖眾不失威儀。即阿若拘隣比丘。

The Buddha said: 'Foremost among my śrāvaka disciples in being the first to receive the taste of the Dharma and contemplate the Four Noble Truths, broad in benevolence and extensive in knowledge, skilled in exhorting and transforming, and guiding and nurturing the noble assembly without losing dignified decorum, is the bhikṣu Ājñātakauṇḍinya.
