The sūtra states: The prince's body was golden in color, with the thirty-two marks, and his light illuminated the great chiliocosm. Heavenly dragons and the eight classes played music in the sky, praising the Buddha's virtues, burning incense, scattering flowers, and raining down robes and necklaces that fell in profusion. At that time, while the queen rested quietly beneath the tree, four wells suddenly welled up, possessing the waters of the eight virtues, with which she washed and rinsed in succession. Yakṣa kings surrounded and guarded her. All the gods and humans praised the knowledge of all modes, [wishing that he would] swiftly attain the Buddha path, turn the wheel of the Dharma early, and deliver sentient beings. Only the Demon King was uneasy on his seat. At that time, auspicious portents descended, thirty-four in number; the text is extensive and will not be recounted. At that time, the palace maids wrapped the prince in heavenly fine muslin and carried him to the queen's place. Moreover, twenty-eight great spirits guarded the four corners, and maidservants returned to the palace to tell the king of these marvelous signs. The king arranged the fourfold army and, accompanied by millions of the Śākya clan, entered the grove. Seeing these extraordinary marks, joy and fear were mingled in his heart. The Śākyas gave birth to five hundred boys in a single day. The Xiuxing states: Eighty-four thousand elders in the country each gave birth to a boy; the stables gave birth to eighty-four thousand foals, one of which was extraordinary, with white hair and a red mane. The Benqi states: The slave was named Chandaka and the horse was named Kaṇṭhaka. Elephants and horses gave birth to white offspring; cattle and sheep gave birth to five-colored young; lambs and calves each numbered five hundred head; and five hundred maidservants each gave birth to a male servant. The Lalitavistara states: Five thousand strongmen were born, and five hundred hidden treasures naturally appeared. Moreover, eight kings gave birth to sons on the same day. It was a time of auspicious blessings.
