經云。佛爾時安慰大眾。廣為說法明三寶常住。既聞法已不生滅想。又云。諸善男子。自修其心慎莫放逸。我今背痛欲臥如常患者。汝等文殊為眾說法。今以大法付囑於汝。乃至迦葉阿難等來亦當付囑。

The sūtra states: At that time, the Buddha comforted the great assembly, extensively expounding the Dharma for them to elucidate the permanent abiding of the Three Jewels. Having heard the Dharma, they no longer gave rise to thoughts of extinction. He also said: 'Good sons, cultivate your own minds and be ever watchful against heedlessness. My back now aches, and I wish to lie down like an ordinary sick person. You, Mañjuśrī, preach the Dharma for the assembly. I now entrust the great Dharma to you; furthermore, when Kāśyapa, Ānanda, and the others arrive, it shall also be entrusted to them.'
