普曜云。佛在迦維國。將阿難入城乞食。難陀樓上遙見下至佛所。取鉢盛食令送至園。逼令出家閉七靜室。後私逃還。路值佛來樹不自隱。欲見婦故。佛將上天便圖天女。路經地獄恐迫專到。佛以瞎獼猴譏之。事見雜藏。阿難以偈譏之。

The Lalitavistara states: When the Buddha was in the country of Kapilavastu, he took Ānanda into the city to beg for food. Nanda, seeing him from afar atop an upper story, came down to the Buddha's place, took his bowl and filled it with food, and was told to carry it to the park. He was then pressured to leave home and shut inside a quiet chamber of seven doors. Later he secretly escaped to return home. On the road he encountered the Buddha coming toward him; the trees did not conceal him, for he longed to see his wife. The Buddha took him up to heaven, whereupon he set his sights on celestial maidens; then they passed through hell, where terror and dread compelled him to be devoted. The Buddha ridiculed him by comparing his wife to a blind monkey. This matter appears in the Kṣudrakapiṭaka. Ānanda ridiculed him with a verse:
