祐尋。八萬塔緣乃懸記後事。廣長所說其驗已徵。撰譜之始本論釋種。但塔興阿育備記佛氏。雖於文為繁而塔事備矣。

You investigates: The story of the eighty-four thousand stūpas was a prophecy of future events; what was spoken by the Broad and Long [Tongue] has already been verified. When first compiling this genealogy, the root concern was discussing the Śākya clan. Yet because the stūpas arose from Aśoka, they fully record the Buddha's family. Although it makes the text voluminous, the matter of the stūpas is thereby complete.
