1.99

本起云。菩薩處胎夫人修行六度。天食自然。三千世界常光明朗。病者除滅三毒停息。菩薩自身支節相好皆悉具足。行住坐臥無有妨礙。又於晨朝。為色界諸天說法。日中欲界日晡鬼神。夜亦三時說正法要。利益眾生。普曜經云。在胎十月。開化三十六載天人。使立三乘聖道。

The Benqi [jing] states: While the Bodhisattva dwelt in the womb, the queen cultivated the six perfections. Heavenly food came naturally. The trichiliocosm was constantly bright and clear. Sicknesses were eliminated, and the three poisons ceased. The Bodhisattva’s own limbs and physical marks were all complete. In walking, standing, sitting, and lying down, there was no obstruction. Furthermore, in the morning, he taught the Dharma to the gods of the form realm; at midday, to the desire realm; in the late afternoon, to ghosts and spirits; and during the three periods of the night, he also taught the essentials of the correct Dharma, benefiting sentient beings. The Lalitavistara Sūtra states: During the ten months in the womb, he guided and transformed thirty-six hundred million gods and humans, causing them to be established in the noble path of the three vehicles.
