陛下即其人也。棄北代而認隴西。陛下即其事也。又老生姬季之末。釋誕隆周之初。世隔一十餘王。年經二百餘祀。此即師資驗矣。先後顯然。勘卷分明。在文指的。伏惟陛下。好生惡殺賴及蟲魚。拯溺救焚化霑荇葦。等三皇之世。教而不誅。同五帝之時。師而不陣。

'Your Majesty is such a person. Casting aside the northern Dai and claiming Longxi—Your Majesty is that very matter! Furthermore, Laozi was born at the end of the Zhou royal line, whereas the Śākya was born at the beginning of the flourishing Zhou; they were separated by more than ten kings, spanning more than two hundred years. Thus the relationship of teacher and disciple is proven, and who came first and last is evident. Checking the scrolls, it is distinct; in the texts, it is directly indicated. We prostrate ourselves: Your Majesty loves life and detests killing, extending your benevolence down to insects and fish; rescuing the drowning and saving those from fire, your transforming influence reaches even the aquatic weeds and reeds. You equal the era of the Three Sovereigns, teaching without executing; you are the same as the time of the Five Thearchs, taking the lead without arraying armies in battle.'
