At that time, Cui Hao and Celestial Master Kou [Qianzhi] had previously found favour with Tao. Fearing that when Huang succeeded to the throne their power and authority would be stripped away, they slandered him, saying, "Regarding the crown prince's previous affairs, he truly had treasonous intentions. It was only by joining with Lord Gao's occult arts that the late emperors were caused to appear in your dream. Such rumours and traces of deeds have gradually become apparent; if they are not eradicated, they will surely become a great calamity." Tao accepted their words, flew into a great rage, and immediately ordered Gao to be arrested.
