11.88

值關中多難，避地京師。吳國張邵挹其貞素，乃請還姑蘇，為造閑居寺，地勢清曠，環帶長川。業居宗秉化，訓誘無輟，三吳學士，輻湊肩聯。又以講導餘隙，屬意禪門。每一端坐，輒有異香充塞房內。近業坐者，咸所共聞，莫不嗟其神異。

Encountering many disasters in Guanzhong, he fled the region to the capital. Zhang Shao of the Wu commandery admired his pure virtue and invited him to return to Gusu, building Xianju Temple for him. The terrain was quiet and spacious, surrounded by long rivers. Ye presided over the tradition and upheld the transformation of beings, instructing and guiding them without cease; scholars of the Sanwu region converged upon him shoulder to shoulder. In the leisure time left from lecturing and guiding, he turned his attention to dhyāna practice. Whenever he sat upright, an extraordinary fragrance filled his room. Those seated near Ye all smelled it, and none failed to sigh in admiration at its wondrous nature.
