2.52

初出《彌勒》、《觀音》二觀經，丹陽尹孟顗。見而善之，深加賞接。後竹園寺慧𤀹尼，復請出《禪經》，安陽既通習積以，臨筆無滯，旬有七日，出為五卷。頃之，又於鍾山定林寺。出《佛父般泥洹經》一卷。安陽居絕妻孥，無欲榮利，從容法侶，宣通正法，是以黑白咸敬而嘉焉，後遘疾而終。

When he first produced the two contemplation sūtras of Maitreya and Avalokiteśvara, Meng Yi, the Governor of Danyang, saw them, praised them, and received him with deep appreciation. Later, the nun Huijun of Zhuyuan Temple further requested him to produce the Chan jing; as Anyang had long been well-versed in it, his brush flowed without obstruction, and in seventeen days he produced it in five fascicles. Soon afterward, at Dinglin Temple on Mount Zhong, he produced the Fo fu ban nihuan jing in one fascicle. In his living, Anyang completely severed ties with wife and children, had no desire for glory or gain, moved freely among Dharma companions, and widely propagated the correct Dharma; therefore monastics and laypeople alike revered and praised him. Later he contracted an illness and died.
