竺法蘊悟解入玄，尤善《放光波若》。康法識亦有義學之功，而以草隸知名。嘗遇康昕，昕自謂筆道過識，識共昕各作右軍草，傍人竊以為貨，莫之能別。又寫眾經，甚見重之。竺法濟幼有才藻，作《高逸沙門傳》。凡此諸人，皆潛之神足，孫綽並為之贊，不復具抄。

Zhu Fayun's realization penetrated the abstruse, and he was especially skilled in the Fangguang bore (Mokṣala's Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā-sūtra). Kang Fashi also had merit in doctrinal study, but was renowned for his cursive and clerical calligraphy. He once met Kang Xin; Xin considered his own brushwork superior to that of Shi, so Shi and Xin each produced works in the cursive script of the General of the Right Army (Wang Xizhi); bystanders secretly sold them as commodities, and no one could tell them apart. He also copied numerous scriptures, which were highly valued. Zhu Faji had talent and literary skill from youth, and authored the Gaoyi shamen zhuan (Biographies of Lofty and Untrammeled Śramaṇas). All these figures were disciples of extraordinary ability under Qian; Sun Chuo composed eulogies for all of them, so they are not copied here in full.
