遠常謂《大智論》文句繁廣，初學難尋，乃抄其要文，撰為二十卷。序致淵雅，使夫學者息過半之功矣。

Huiyuan often thought that the sentences and phrases of the *Dàzhì lùn* were numerous and broad, making it difficult for beginners to navigate. He therefore excerpted its essential passages and compiled them into twenty fascicles. The preface was profound and elegant, allowing scholars to save more than half of their labor.
