7.36

苞嘗於路行見六劫被錄，苞為說法，勸念觀世音。群劫以臨危之際，念念懇切。俄而送吏飲酒洪醉，劫解枷得免焉。宋元嘉中卒。

Once while traveling on the road, [Seng]bao saw six bandits being arrested; [Seng]bao expounded the Dharma to them and urged them to be mindful of Avalokiteśvara. Facing grave peril, the bandits were earnestly mindful from thought to thought. Shortly after, the escorting officers became thoroughly drunk with wine; the bandits loosened their cangues and managed to escape. He died during the Yuanjia era of the Song.
