勒登位已後，事澄彌篤。時石葱將叛。其年澄誡勒曰：「今年葱中有蟲，食必害人，可令百姓無食葱也。」勒班告境內，慎無食葱。到八月，石葱果走。勒益加尊重，有事必諮而後行，號「大和上」。

After Le ascended the throne, his service to Deng became even more devoted. At that time Shi Cong was about to rebel. That year Deng warned Le, saying: "This year there are worms in the scallions; eating them will surely harm people. You may order the common people not to eat scallions." Le issued an edict throughout his territory that they must carefully refrain from eating scallions. When it came to the eighth month, Shi Cong indeed fled. Le respected [Deng] even more; whenever there was an affair, he always consulted him before acting, and granted him the title of "Great Master" (Da Heshang).
