Huida stayed at Tongxuan Temple for three years from start to finish, day and night reverently worshipping without ever ceasing for an instant. Shortly afterward, he proceeded to Kuaiji to pay homage to the Mao Stupa. This stupa was also built by King Aśoka; over long years it had fallen into neglect and ruin, and only its foundations remained. Huida focused his mind and restrained his thoughts, whereupon he saw a divine light blaze forth. Thereupon, he repaired and built the niche and masonry, and flocks of birds dared not roost or gather there. Anyone hunting or fishing near the vicinity of the temple invariably caught nothing; monastics and laypeople passed on the response, and none failed to be moved to faith. Later, the commandery governor Meng Yi further expanded it. Huida paid homage in the east and west, repeatedly revealing miraculous verifications, and his energetic diligence and earnest devotion remained unchanged to the end of his years. Later, it is not known where he went.
