Later, Puṇyatāra came to Guanzhong and recited from memory the Sanskrit text of the *Daśādhyāya-vinaya*. Kumārajīva translated it into the Jin language. When only two of the three parts had been done, Puṇyatāra passed away, and Huiyuan constantly lamented that it was incomplete. When he heard that Dharmaruci had entered Qin and was also skilled in reciting this text, he sent his disciple Tanyong with a letter to entreat him to produce the remaining parts in Guanzhong. Thus, the complete *Daśādhyāya-vinaya* was made whole without omissions. The Jin lands obtained the text, which has been handed down to the present day. That these wondrous scriptures from beyond the Congling Mountains and supreme expositions from Guanzhong came to gather in this land was all due to Huiyuan's effort. The monks of foreign countries all declared that in the land of Han there was a Mahāyāna man of the Way; whenever they burned incense and prostrated, they would turn east and bow their heads, directing their minds toward Mount Lu. His spiritual and intellectual traces were indeed unfathomable.
