Later there was śramaṇa Daoci of Yuzhou, who was skilled in the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa and Saddharmapuṇḍarīka. Following Daoyou's doctrines, he abridged Daoyou's commentary on the Śrīmālādevī-sūtra into two fascicles, which circulate today. At that time, Huizheng of Duobao Temple and Jueshi of Changle Temple were equal to him in renown and virtue. Huizheng was exceptionally proficient in the three śāstras and was revered by scholars. Jueshi was skilled in the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā and Nirvāṇa-sūtra, establishing the doctrine of 'non-empty nominal designation.'
