10.24

釋圓寂，不知何許人也。恒以禪觀為務，勤修匪懈，就嵩山老安禪師請決心疑，一皆明煥。寂化行相部，依附者多。久居天平等山，稠禪師往跡無不遍尋。時大司空嚴綬傾心信重。享壽一百五十五歲，咸亨二年己巳歲生。按咸亨二年辛未，合云總章二年己巳也。

Śramaṇa Yuanji: it is not known what place he was from. He constantly took Chan contemplation as his task, cultivating diligently without remiss; he went to Chan Master Lao'an of Mount Song to resolve his mind's doubts, and all became clear and bright. Yuanji's teaching was practiced in Xiangbu, and those who relied on him were many. He resided for a long time on Mount Tianping and other mountains, visiting all the former traces of Chan Master Chou without exception. At that time, Grand Minister of Works Yan Shou was wholeheartedly devoted to him in faith and respect. He enjoyed a lifespan of one hundred fifty-five years, having been born in the yisi year, the second year of the Xianheng era. (Checking this, the second year of the Xianheng era was xinwei; it should say the second year of the Zongzhang era, which was yisi.)
