系曰：清公南山宗崛起別峰，人咸景仰，與嵩、悟二公遇于必爭之地，清果得俊。矧夫閬苑也，僻用律文，三隅不反。既成圖狀，學者流傳，致其嵩公如填海底。至大中中玄暢公荐加褒貶，貶嵩又轉沈尾閭中矣。

The appraisal states: Master Qing rose up like a separate peak within the Nanshan School, and everyone looked up to him. When he met masters Song and Wu on the contested ground where battle was inevitable, Qing indeed carried the day. What is more, in Langzhou they applied the vinaya text in a one-sided way and failed to infer the other corners. Once the diagrams and treatises were completed and circulated among scholars, it caused Master Song to be buried as if at the bottom of the sea. By the Dazhong era, when Master Xuanchang repeatedly weighed in with praise and blame, his censure plunged Song even deeper into the abyss.
