The appraisal says: "Within the intermediate state, once a destiny is fixed, it is difficult to alter; what is cultivated in the present life will surely incur future fruits. Now, Zhibang followed the instruction of an extraordinary monk, who told him to wait twenty years for his disciples of the lecture, and it was entirely as he said. If it is like this, then cultivating in this life will reap the fruits of this life, which is indeed no lie. The Classic of Poetry says: 'Waiting for the Yellow River to run clear, how long is a man's life?' One will know that for a person of longevity, the clearing of the River is seen repeatedly."
