Shi Wang Luohan was an unfathomable monk. He was extremely fond of pork and spoke like a madman, but his words were later often verified. He was once airing his clothes in the sun; when a thief was about to steal them, he bowed his head and pretended to sleep. When he had possessions and people came to beg from him, he never showed any sign of stinginess. In the sixth month of the early years of the Kaibao era, he suddenly died while seated. Three days later, when they were coating him with lacquer cloth, they suddenly heard a clicking sound from between his two cheeks, and all said he was rotting away. At night he appeared in dreams to several people, saying, 'The lacquer cloth suffocates me; why not open it?' The next day, they summoned the lacquer craftsman to strip it off: his flesh was red and white, and round grains of śarīra fell down, which were collected and worshipped. To this day his bodily relic remains in the home temple. At that time, Saṅgha Rectifier Zanning composed a stele recording this wonder. King Qian of the Hannan kingdom privately changed his title to the Venerable One of Secret Cultivation and Divine Transformation.
