The appraisal says: The Buddha commanded the monks to give food to sentient beings; the mutual benefit across two lifetimes yields no slight retribution. In the case of Master Ming, he accomplished the great perfection of giving, leaving parsimony far behind; he accomplished great valor, obtaining fearlessness; he accomplished the emptiness of the three wheels, realizing unconditioned merit; he accomplished the mind of relinquishing what is hard to abandon, purifying the Buddha land. In a single cast of his body, how vast were its benefits! It is just as when one who excels at rewarding spends little yet encourages many—does it not mean this?!
