25.17

系曰：一口宣誦，何能入遠近人人耳耶？通曰：「近則若願持經，善法力故；遠則一音演說，隨類聞解。其人是聖寺員位，斷可知矣！」

The appraisal says: How could the recitation of a single mouth reach the ears of everyone near and far? The explanation is: 'Near, it was like the power of the wholesome Dharma born of his vow to uphold the scripture; far, it was like the single sound expounded, heard and understood according to their kind. That he held an official seat in the sacred monastery may certainly be known!'
