系曰：《春秋》夏五，不敢輕加；佛教宜然，無妄釀矣。通曰：「靈幽獲鍾離寺石經，符合無苦。如道明所添糅，使人疑豫，必招詐偽。率易改張，稱有冥告，誡之哉。」

Appraisal: In the Spring and Autumn Annals, regarding the 'fifth month of summer', no one dared lightly add a character; the Buddhist teaching should be the same, free from reckless concoction. The critical comment says: 'Lingyou obtained the stone scripture of Zhongli Temple, and its correspondence was without harm. But when additions and mixtures like those of Daoming are made, they make people hesitate with doubt, inevitably incurring deceit and forgery. To change and alter things rashly, claiming to have received a revelation from the underworld—beware of this!'
