Appraisal: When Duan passed away, an udumbara flower emerged from his mouth—was it truly so? We have heard that only when a Wheel-Turning King appears in the world does this flower bloom over the ocean; how could it appear in this Semblance and Final Age? The critical comment says: 'Because it responded to the resonance of that man, it cannot be constrained by time. Just as the qilin is not a creature of the Central Realm, yet arrives in resonance with an enlightened king, so it is here.'
