Śramaṇa Yunsui—it is not known where he was from. He comprehensively mastered the sūtras and treatises, combining doctrinal understanding with practical application. Furthermore, he was thoroughly versed in the diverse writings and was acclaimed for his erudition. He took pleasure in high virtue, loved all broadly, and no one found fault with him. Successive imperial courts summoned him to enter the Palace Chapel, and from the reign of Emperor Shunzong onward, he oversaw translation affairs. At the beginning of Emperor Xianzong's reign, he took charge of the affairs of both the Buddhist and Daoist religions across the temples and abbeys of the Right Street, and by special imperial edict was appointed as the Rector (sthavira) of both Ximing and Qianfu Temples. His deportment was refined and elegant, and his administration strict and solemn. Worthies of antiquity compared Daosheng to Guo Linzong; Master Sui indeed possessed such qualities. Next, Śramaṇa Qingyuan of Qixia Temple in Runzhou, surnamed Feng, was a native of Yanling in Nanxu. In his youthful years he was chaste and simple, and as an adult he did not mix with the ordinary crowd; unconstrained by worldly ways, he entered the stream of the Dharma. He approached Master She and became his disciple. His learning was abundant in the sūtras and the vinaya, with few who could match him. He dwelt on Mount She for many years. In the early Changqing era, Prime Minister Li Deyu, Minister of Works, was stationed in Western Zhe; washing his mind in the realm of the Way, he invited Qingyuan to reside in Jingkou, inquiring into and receiving the essentials of Chan, which deeply resonated with his longstanding aspiration. When the Duke of Zanhuang left the commandery, Qingyuan returned his staff to Qixia and ended his life at his residing temple.
