釋靖邁，梓潼人也。少孺矜持，長高志操，特於經論研覈造微。氣性沈厚，不妄交結，遊必擇方，抵于京輔。貞觀中，屬玄奘西迴，勅奉為太穆太后於京造廣福寺，就彼翻譯。所須吏力，悉與玄齡商量，務令優給。遂召證義大德諳練大小乘經論，為時所尊尚者，得一十一人，邁預其精選，即居慈恩寺也。同普光寺棲玄、廣福寺明𤀹、會昌寺辯機、終南山豐德寺道宣同執筆綴文，翻譯《本事經》七卷。邁後與神昉筆受於玉華宮及慈恩寺翻經院，皆推適變，故得經心矣。後著《譯經圖紀》四卷，銓序古今經目、譯人名位、單譯、重翻、疑偽等科，一皆條理，見編于藏。開元中，智昇又續其題目焉。

Shi Jingmai was a man of Zhitong. In his youth he was modest and reserved, and as he grew up his aspirational conduct was lofty, especially plumbing the subtleties of sūtras and śāstras through thorough study. His temperament was steady and profound; he did not make casual associations, and whenever he traveled he chose his destination carefully, eventually arriving in the metropolitan capital. During the Zhenguan era, coinciding with Xuanzang's return from the west, an imperial decree ordered that Guangfu Temple be constructed in the capital for Empress Taimu, where Xuanzang was to carry out translation. All clerical assistance required was discussed with Fang Xuanling so as to ensure generous provision. Consequently, eleven Great Virtues who verified meaning, practiced in Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna scriptures and treatises and respected by the times, were summoned; Jingmai was included among those chosen and resided at Cien Temple. Together with Xixuan of Puguang Temple, Mingjun of Guangfu Temple, Bianji of Huichang Temple, and Daoxuan of Fengde Temple on Mount Zhongnan, he held the brush and composed the text, translating the Itivuttaka in seven fascicles. Later, Jingmai and Shenfang served as scribes at Yuhua Palace and the Translation Court of Cien Temple, where both were praised for adapting to circumstances, and thus they gained deep mastery of the scriptures. Later he authored the four-fascicle Yijing tuji, evaluating and arranging ancient and modern scriptural catalogues, the names and ranks of translators, single translations, retranslations, apocrypha, and other categories, all properly ordered, which is now included in the Tripiṭaka. During the Kaiyuan era, Zhisheng continued its headings.
