Śramaṇa Huiyin: it is not known where he was from. His brilliant spirit was more than abundant; when dwelling among his peers, it was like seeing a crane amid a flock of chickens. During the reign of the Heavenly Emperor, when a careful selection was made of those of advanced learning and renowned virtue, Yin met this selection. In the second year of Linde, an imperial decree ordered the Writing Office at the Western Longmen of the Northern Gate, together with Xuanze of Ximing Temple and ten others, to extract the essential doctrines and profound texts in thirty scrolls from all the scriptures, entitled the Chanlin yaochao [Essential Extracts from the Forest of Dhyāna]. When the work was completed, it was presented in a memorial, and an imperial decree ordered it stored in the Secret Archives. Yin also once took part in translations; Xuanze was quite renowned for his writings. During the reign of Emperor Gaozong, they were the foremost dragons and elephants.
