10.19

雍州藍田縣界。有一村。忽然地陷。深百餘尺。村中有姓徐者。宅中有佛屋。在其陷處。有一部法花經。是徐氏常所受持供養。於其陷處。乃為一土柱。承此佛屋。迢然擢聳。竟不崩落。見者咸共怪異之。並為如法抄寫之徵也。

Within the boundaries of Lantian County in Yongzhou, there was a village where the ground suddenly sank down more than a hundred feet. In the village was a man surnamed Xu, in whose house was a shrine room; it was located right where the ground sank. There was a copy of the Lotus Sūtra that Xu had constantly upheld and made offerings to. Where it had sunk, an earthen pillar formed to support this shrine room, standing loftily erect and never collapsing. All who saw it marveled at it, and it was a sign of having copied [the sūtra] in accordance with the Dharma.
