There was also the nun Farun, whose surname was Chen, a native of Danyang. She resided at Sanmei Temple and recited the Lotus Sūtra, possessing great practice in the Way. After her death, her body was placed in the forest graveyard in the wilds to be given to insects and beasts. After resting for about a hundred days, though birds and insects had eaten away everything completely, only her tongue and heart remained intact together as before: the tongue was still red in color, while the heart was slightly blackish. The descendants of her family then collected them, buried them, and erected a stūpa.
