安居縣樣少女。發心讀法華提婆達多品。手塗香觸經。口含香方始讀。其母遇疾病。為讀即消滅。靜夜向燈讀經。異香忽至。精誠十二年。女根滅男根生。祕不語之。臨終之時。一莖蓮華首邊生。眾皆謂生淨土表示。

A young daughter of the Yang family in Anju County resolved her mind to recite the Devadatta Chapter of the Lotus. Smearing her hands with incense, she touched the sūtra; holding incense in her mouth, only then did she begin to recite. When her mother fell ill, she recited it for her and the illness vanished. Reciting the sūtra facing a lamp in the quiet night, an extraordinary fragrance suddenly arrived. After twelve years of sincerity, her female organs disappeared and male organs arose, but she kept it secret and did not speak of it. At the time of her death, a single stem of lotus grew beside her head. The assembly all considered it a sign of rebirth in the Pure Land.
