7.30

大原有小女。父母遭苦而亡。漸發人情。戀慕父母。從尼真妙。受藥王品。晝夜轉讀。祈念父母。夢有一沙門云。汝讀法華一品。乘此善因。父母生淨土。乃出家勤行精進。受持一部見在矣。

In Taiyuan, there was a young girl whose parents suffered hardship and died. Gradually awakening to human feelings, she yearned for her parents. From the nun Zhenmiao, she received the Bhaiṣajyarāja Chapter, revolving and reciting it day and night, praying for her parents. She dreamed of a śramaṇa who said, "You have recited one chapter of the Lotus; riding upon this wholesome cause, your parents have been born in the Pure Land." She thereupon left home, practiced diligence and vigor, and upheld the entire work, [in which practice] she currently remains.
