并州有一清信女。姓楚修念西方行業。凡此州男女七歲。皆解念佛三昧。此女深生厭離。發願書寫法華一部。迴向西方。夢西方聖眾來告女。汝行念佛三昧。造法華經。是故來語。從是已後二十五年。方來迎。語已而去。此女彌發信心。自寫法華。念阿彌陀。七十六方卒。微細音樂聞空中。異香滿室。奇瑞蓋多。

In Bingzhou, there was a faithful woman surnamed Chu who cultivated the practices of mindfulness directed toward the Western Direction. In general, boys and girls of this province who reached seven years of age all understood the samādhi of recollecting the Buddha. This woman gave rise to deep revulsion and renunciation, and made a vow to copy one set of the Lotus Sūtra and dedicate the merit toward the Western Direction. In a dream, the holy multitude of the Western Direction came and told the woman: "Because you practice the samādhi of recollecting the Buddha and produce the Lotus Sūtra, we have come to tell you: twenty-five years from now, we will then come to welcome you." Having spoken, they departed. This woman gave rise to even greater faith, personally copying the Lotus Sūtra and being mindful of Amitābha. She was seventy-six when she finally passed away. Delicate music was heard in the sky, strange fragrance filled the room, and there were indeed many wondrous omens.
