尼法勝吳縣人。進修禪寂。念佛為業。訓誘道俗。皆勸往生。得病自知不差。臥見一僧。報曰。此病不差。須專念佛。又見。二僧偏袒。執花立在床前。光明照我身。言訖而終。

The nun Fasheng was a native of Wuxian. She progressed in the cultivation of dhyāna tranquility and took buddhamanasikāra as her practice. Instructing and guiding monastics and laity, she encouraged them all toward rebirth. When she contracted an illness, she knew on her own that she would not recover. Lying down, she saw a monk who announced, “This illness will not heal; you must exclusively practice buddhamanasikāra.” Furthermore, she saw two monks with their right shoulders bared, holding flowers and standing before her bed: “Radiance illuminates my body.” Having spoken these words, she died.
