隋汶州二沙彌。同志念佛。長者忽亡。至淨土見佛白言。有小沙彌同修。可得生否。佛言。由彼勸汝。汝方發心。汝今可歸。益勤淨業。三年之後。當同來此。至期二人。俱見佛來。大地震動。天花飃舞。一時同化。

Two śrāmaṇeras of Wenzhou under the Sui practiced buddhamanasikāra with shared resolve. The elder one suddenly died. Reaching the Pure Land, he saw the Buddha and said: "I have a younger fellow śrāmaṇera cultivating together with me; can he attain rebirth?" The Buddha said: "It is because he urged you that you gave rise to the aspiration. You may now return and be ever more diligent in pure karma. After three years, you should come here together." When the time arrived, both saw the Buddha arrive, the great earth shook, heavenly flowers drifted and danced, and at that moment both transformed together.
