宋了然法師。號智涌。住白蓮寺二十四年。夢二龍戲空中。一化為神人。袖出簡云。師七日當行。既寤集眾說法。大書曰。因念佛力。得生樂國。凡汝諸人。可不自勉。即沐浴更衣。令眾誦彌陀經。至西方世界處。倏然而化。能仁寺行人。皆聞天樂之音。祥光上燭天表。

Dharma Master Liaoran of the Song was styled Zhiyong. He lived at Bailian Temple for twenty-four years. He dreamed of two dragons playing in the sky; one transformed into a divine being, who drew a letter from his sleeve and said: "Master, in seven days you shall depart." After waking, he gathered the assembly to preach the Dharma, writing in large characters: "By the power of buddhamanasikāra, one attains rebirth in the realm of joy. Should not all of you exert yourselves?" He then bathed, changed his clothes, and ordered the assembly to recite the Amitābha Sūtra. When they reached the passage on the Western world system, he suddenly transformed. Practitioners at Nengren Temple all heard the sounds of heavenly music, and auspicious light illuminated the heavens above.
