宋智仙。號真教。住白蓮寺。講道十三年。西向禮念。未甞少廢。一夕微疾。請觀堂行人。誦彌陀經。卷未終而坐脫。隣住能仁寺僧。皆聞天樂和鳴。黎明乃知師亡。

Zhixian of the Song was styled Zhenjiao. He lived at Bailian Temple and lectured on the Way for thirteen years. Facing west in prostrations and mindfulness, he never remitted for a moment. One evening he had a slight illness, and asked the practitioners in the contemplation hall to recite the Amitābha Sūtra. Before the scroll was finished, he cast off while seated. Monks residing nearby at Nengren Temple all heard heavenly music playing in harmony. Only at dawn did they learn that the master had died.
