Huiheng of the Song lived at Yanshou Temple in Wulin. At first, he relied on Lingzhi to study the Vinaya, and exclusively cultivated pure karma for sixty years. Whenever facing people, he invariably exhorted them with buddhamanasikāra. He constructed a jeweled pavilion and erected images of the three holy ones, which were praised as most extraordinary. A man named Jiang Ziren suddenly dreamed of a jeweled seat descending from the sky, with someone saying: "Vinaya Master Heng should ascend this seat." It happened that his association companion, Layman Sun, informed Heng of his departure beforehand, and transformed at home while forming a mudrā. The master went to burn incense for him; upon returning, he said to his disciples: "Mr. Sun has already departed; I shall go as well." He then gathered the assembly to practice buddhamanasikāra and spoke a verse for them: / "Chanting Amitābha with mouth after mouth; / Contemplating the white curl of hair thought after thought. / Upholding this non-retrogressing mind, / One is decisively reborn in Peaceful Nourishment." / Sitting upright, he transformed. He was styled Vinaya Master Qingzhao.
