晉曇詵。廣陵人。幼師遠公。勤修淨業。兼善講說。註維摩經行於世。元嘉十七年。趺坐念佛而逝。

Tanshen of the Jin was a native of Guangling. In his youth he took Master Yuan as his teacher, diligently cultivating pure karma, and was also adept in lecturing. His commentary on the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa Sūtra circulated in the world. In the seventeenth year of the Yuanjia era, he passed away sitting cross-legged in buddhamanasikāra.
