贊曰。懈怠比丘。遇有疾則曰。吾力且憊。待平復已。然後念佛。不知念佛。為度老病。有疾念佛。今正是時。而顯以念力。既愈其疾。復得往生。賢哉。

In praise we say: When a slack monk meets with illness, he says, "My strength is exhausted; I will wait until I recover before engaging in buddhamanasikāra." He does not realize that buddhamanasikāra is for crossing over old age and sickness; to engage in buddhamanasikāra when ill is precisely the right time. Through the power of his contemplation, Xian both cured his illness and attained rebirth. How worthy!
