隋灌頂。章安人。智者大師弟子也。日以念佛為事。臨終室有異香。遺誡弟子竟。忽起合掌。稱阿彌陀佛二大士名。奄然而化。

Guanding of the Sui dynasty was a native of Zhang'an, and a disciple of Great Master Zhizhe. He made buddhamanasikāra his daily practice. Near death, an extraordinary fragrance filled his room. Having concluded his final instructions to his disciples, he suddenly arose, joined his palms, and invoked the names of Amitābha and the two Mahāsattvas, then peacefully passed away.
