1.83

贊曰。佛云吾言如蜜。中邊皆甜。悉宜信受。是故信少惡入地獄。而不信一念生西方。此誠可謂邪見矣。近世喜持呪者。見陀羅尼所說功德。能易山海役鬼神。滿種種求願。則躍然而信。見淨土所說功德。能直入聖階。立超三界。則恬然不介意。其為邪見等耳。可慨也夫。

The appraisal says: The Buddha said, “My words are like honey: the center and the edges are all sweet; they should all be received with faith.” Therefore, believing that a slight evil leads into hell while not believing that a single thought brings rebirth in the Western Direction can truly be called a wrong view! In recent times, those who take pleasure in upholding dhāraṇīs eagerly believe them when they see that the merits spoken of in the dhāraṇīs can move mountains and oceans, command ghosts and spirits, and fulfill all kinds of wishes; yet when they see the merits spoken of in the Pure Land, which allow one to enter the stages of the noble directly and instantly transcend the trailokya, they remain indifferent and unconcerned. These are of the same kind of wrong view. How lamentable!
