2.11

贊曰。觀經敘淨業正因。以孝養父母為第一。故知。不孝之人。終日念佛。佛亦不喜。今遺民少盡孝養。而復深入三昧。屢感瑞徵。其往生品位高可知矣。在家修淨業者。此其為萬代師法。

The appreciation says: The Contemplation Sūtra sets forth the correct causes for pure karma, placing filial support of one's parents first. Thus we know that if an unfilial person engages in buddhamanasikāra all day long, the Buddha will not be pleased with him. Now, Yimin in his youth fully carried out filial support, and furthermore deeply entered samādhi, repeatedly eliciting auspicious signs; from this one can tell that his grade of rebirth was high indeed. For laypeople cultivating pure karma, he serves as an exemplary model for ten thousand generations.
